Dr. S. Lambotharan holds a Readership (UK equivalent to Associate Professor) in Communications within the Advanced Signal Processing Group, Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Loughborough University. He received a PhD degree in Signal Processing from Imperial College, UK in 1997, where he remained until 1999 as a postdoctoral research associate. He was a visiting scientist at the Engineering and Theory Centre of Cornell University, USA in 1996. Between 1999 and 2002, he was with the Motorola Applied Research Group, UK and investigated various projects including physical link layer modelling and performance characterization of GPRS, EGPRS and UTRAN. He has been with King’s College London and Cardiff University as a lecturer and senior lecturer respectively from 2002 to 2007. His current research interests include cognitive radio, wireless relay networks, equalization and interference cancellation techniques. He has published more than 100 technical journal and conference papers in signal processing for communications. He is a senior member of the IEEE and an associate editor for EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking.
